I emailed LL Bean, then commented on their IG and FB pages. Bean promotes the great outdoors. How on earth can they support a Republican?

Linda Bean has died. She was a Trumper. When I discovered that, I deleted my LL Bean bookmark. But I contemplate that she designated a portion of her fortune to the GOP in perpetuity. I would not want to have to admit that to a customer if I worked for LL Bean.

I do not know a thing about this: it just seems like the logical sort of thing a Trump crackpot would put in her will. Or Trust or whatever. Just guessing.

The person I spoke to at LL Bean said they do not endorse or donate to any political campaign. Told her I had info indicating an $11,500 donation to Senator Collins. She said that is incorrect information.

Thank you for letting me know. I did see that several people commented about the donation on Bean's IG and FB. Bean has not replied to comments. I'll keep checking.

Re Collins-Maine list of donors...

Hammond Lumber Company has this message at the top of its page hammondlumber.com

Hammond Lumber Company does not make political donations to any candidate or party. We encourage everyone to verify information through credible sources. How does a business, any business, condone the dismantling of their customer base? Their money comes from customers. Business people are supposed to worship the bottom line. So ask them, why do you want to destroy your customer base?

I looked up Susan Collins list of donations and she gets a lot of money from PACs and individuals that might be people who work for those companies, but no way to tell. I will also check Goods Unite Us, but not sure if they break it down to the candidates.

The person I spoke to at Abc Supply (Johnson supporter) said they had made several calls to his office. She didn't say if it was for a No vote but it sounded that way after I asked that the company call with that message.

Jessica, please explain what we say to donors. They don't vote.

They can put pressure on the legislators that they support. Ask them to tell the legislators to vote no.

How can I find the donor list?
